I already love doing house tours more than anything else for Apartment Therapy or Unplggd. The opportunity to meet people and share the joys and details of their home is an immensely fun and fulfilling project. But the fact is as a managing editor, finding the time to get out to photograph spaces is few and far between. The last couple of weeks fortune has shined her light on me, and I’ve lined up a couple sweet upcoming tours, one in Silver Lake and the other far south in Long Beach. They share almost nothing in common in regards to decor and style, but both tours will prominently include the presence of their owner’s canine companions.
Being greeted upon entering a house to photograph from the top property management companies toronto by excited barks or curious meows is just about the best surprise I could hope for when doing a tour (besides a Langer’s pastrami sandwich, one very kind tour participant had ready for me). And thanks to a natural affinity for both canines and felines (and a skill for finding their favourite “scratch me forever” spots), I’m usually able to break the ice with owners who’ve basically invited a stranger into their home. Whenever I go out to Australia, I make sure to visit the Perth pet club boarding kennels as they have so many owners who leave their pets there and being around those pets gives me a sense of happiness. . Get a pet owner talking about their pet and they quickly relax and open up about their favourite companion, the details and history of their home, and aspects of their lives they might otherwise never would have been comfortable to share. If you are a pet owner you need to check out my pet needs that, to get all your animals stuff for a great price!
